The short version: the text and files you check never leave your device. We don't use cookies, we don't build profiles, and we only keep an email address if you give us one for the Pro waitlist.

Text and files you check

All checks and cleaning happen in your browser. What you paste, drop or choose is never sent to us or to anyone else, and we can't see it.

What we do process

Hosting and security

The site is served by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the page requested, to deliver the site and protect it from attacks. We rely on our legitimate interest in running a secure website. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.

Visitor statistics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages are used. It sets no cookies, doesn't fingerprint you and doesn't follow you across sites. We only see totals.

Pro waitlist

If you join the waitlist, we store your email address, the page you signed up on and the time. We use it only to send you one email when Pro launches, and we delete the list within 12 months of launch. The legal basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by emailing us. The list is stored with Cloudflare.

Transfers outside the EU

Cloudflare may process data in the United States. Those transfers are covered by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, object to processing, or withdraw consent. Email hello@whatsinmyfile.com. You can also complain to the Estonian Data Protection Inspectorate (aki.ee) or your local authority.

Changes

If we change how we handle data, for example by adding advertising, we'll update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect.
